This project involved undertaking the preliminary design and engineering for the upgrade of the Brisbane - Beenleigh Road (Kingston Road) and Compton Road intersection located south of Brisbane in Woodridge.

The existing intersection incorporates shared through/right turn lanes and a fixed phase cycle for the traffic signals creating capacity issues resulting in significant queues and delays being experienced by road users in the peak period.

Preliminary design investigations were concluded in January 2019 which proposes a number of improvements to the geometric layout and lane configurations as well as modifications to the signal phasing to increase the capacity, efficiency and safety of the intersection.
